Fireplace Use

We are pleased to make available the wood burning indoor fireplace and the outdoor fire pit. Please do not use either of the fireplaces if you are not 100% comfortable in their safe operation.

Firewood is not provided. In the indoor fireplace, only dried hardwood and fire-starting logs are permitted to be burnt. Outdoors, only wood is permitted to be burnt. Fireplace tools can be found next to the indoor fireplace. Fireplaces are used at your own risk.

Never use gasoline or any liquid accelerant to help start a fire.

To use the indoor fireplace, first open the damper with the chain inside the hearth. Once you have enjoyed your fire, do not leave it unattended until ALL embers are burnt out - stir up the ash pile to be sure. The indoor fire should not be put out with water, it must be allowed to burn out on its own. This can take several hours, so please plan accordingly. Be sure to close the damper the following morning.
